GROCERANTS AND BISTROS

DOWNLOAD BROCHURE

The Retail sector is currently undergoing a significant transformation, where the inclusion of food areas within supermarkets and retail spaces has become a “must-have”. When it comes to designing Grocerant areas we adopt a 100%-custom approach. Design elements, décor, and ambiance are crucial in setting the right mood and creating immersive environments that enhance the customer experience. This design strategy, commonly seen in the restaurant industry, offers an opportunity to prolong customer stays and, consequently, increase sales. As a result, it adds improved margins to the conventional product sales on shelves.

OUR METHOD

Step 1

Focus Question:

Does the brand have previous experience in this field? What goals do you expect to achieve by entering the sector?

UNDERSTANDING

Our approach to the Grocerant sector begins by thoroughly grasping the specific expectations of the customers, including the type of offerings and the desired ambiance. At the same time, identifying and understanding the hidden needs and potential opportunities linked to neighboring departments becomes a crucial aspect of this stage.

Step 2

Focus Question:

How can I translate the chosen mood into design, layout, and customer experience within a space?

DESIGN

Once the desired ambiance and functional requirements for the area are determined, the design phase focuses on developing a fresh concept/format design. This collaborative process, conducted in close collaboration with the customer, may involve the participation of external consultants and design partners who specialize in grocery store design and furnishings.

Step 3

Focus Question:

How can I eliminate costs that do not translate into aesthetic/functional quality, longevity, or benefit my customers and consumers?

VALUE ENGINEERING

Value engineering is the pivotal stage of every project, and is when our technical team takes the reins. They propose technical solutions, alternative materials, finishes, and even products from our series catalogs, all with the ultimate aim of meeting your aesthetic and functional expectations, project timelines, and budgetary considerations.

Step 4

Focus Question:

How can I optimise the production phase in terms of management and benefit the customer in terms of logistics and storage costs?

LOGISTICS

At Gibam, logistics refers to the meticulous organization and planning of deliveries tailored to the requirements of each project and customer. This service, known as “picking”, enables the furniture items included in a long-term opening plan to be manufactured at the same time. However, they are picked up or delivered progressively, in agreement with the company, to align with the actual shop opening date.

Step 5

Focus Question:

How can I facilitate the on-site installation phase during the previous design and coordination phases, so that it is carried out as efficiently as possible?

INSTALLATION

We commence the installation phase by organizing and coordinating all visual materials to assist the on-site assembly teams. These teams can consist of fitters provided by us or, as mutually agreed with the customer, and a combination of local fitters handled on-site by our managers.

Step 6

Focus Question:

How can I help my customer during the installation and subsequent after-sales phases in the most functional and fastest way possible?

ASSISTANCE

Our Customer Care team caters to a wide range of needs, whether that involves providing product information, offering guidance on store installations, assisting with product assembly for both existing and new customers, or providing support for previously purchased items. MONETISING CUSTOMER TIME

Having a bistro within a shopping area serves as a valuable business strategy with numerous benefits. It allows for the repurposing of less profitable spaces into refreshment areas where consumers can enjoy high-quality products they know and love. As a result, the restaurant becomes a driving force for the grocery business. The end user encounters familiar and enjoyable products that they can consume on the spot or purchase for convenient and safe home consumption. The design and style of the dedicated space play a vital role in the success of this process. We encourage you to explore our upcoming in-depth article that delves into this very subject.

DESIGNING A NEW FORMAT

Furnishing the Grocerant sector is akin to furnishing a restaurant, where the primary objective is to replicate a specific mood, ambiance, and environment that heightens the consumer’s experience. Through thoughtful space design, we aim to transport customers into an emotional realm that aligns with the type of product they are consuming. At Gibam, the exploration of this new design format involves a collaboration with The Right Side, an Italian consulting and design studio specialising in designing and outfitting commercial spaces. This partnership combines the imaginative prowess of specialised food designers with the technical expertise of our teams, enabling the development of fresh formats built upon four fundamental pillars: technology, sustainability, health, and experience.
